State Sen. Donnelly "Legislature of the Year" Two Times Over

Sen. Kenneth Donnelly was honored by the Massachusetts Police Association and the Medical Advisory Committee.

State Senator Kenneth J. Donnelly (D-Arlington) was presented with two “Legislator of the Year” awards this March.

On March 15, Senator Donnelly attended a Massachusetts Police Association meeting where he was awarded their “Legislator of the Year” Award.  “The Massachusetts Police Association takes great pride in presenting Senator Donnelly with our "Legislator of the Year" Award,” said Executive Board Member Rick Padrini. “Senator Donnelly has always made public safety a priority and stands with the working men and women of the Commonwealth.  This award, presented on behalf of 21,000 law enforcement professionals recognizes that."

On March 27, the Medical Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Tuberculosis (MACET) presented Donnelly with their “Legislator of the Year” Award during their World No TB Day 2012 event at the State House.  The event was held to honor individuals and organizations that have made exceptional efforts to protect communities from tuberculosis.  MACET is a volunteer panel comprised of experts and physicians that advise the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on tuberculosis prevention and control.

Dr. Tom Garvey, a Lexington resident and Co-Chair of MACET commented, “Senator Donnelly has been a strong advocate for the Hinton State Laboratory Institute and protecting us all from tuberculosis, and this is why we are recognizing him as Legislator of the Year.”

“It is wonderful to be acknowledged for my work on issues that are so important to me,” Said Senator Donnelly.  “I am truly honored to receive these two awards and I will continue to advocate for these and other matters that are import to me and my constituents.”
