Suspects in Burlington Counterfeit Bill Incident Identified
BREAKING: Three New York men were arrested Wednesday after allegedly trying to pass counterfeit bills at two Burlington stores.
BURLINGTON, MA — Three suspects arrested in an alleged counterfeit bill incident Wednesday in Burlington have been identified by Police.
Michael Akins, 20, of Brooklyn, NY; Ibrahima Durkaray, 20, of Bronx, NY; and Inuwa E. Braimah, 21, of Bronx, NY were arrested after allegedly passing counterfeit $100 bills at Bed Bath and Beyond and The Paper Store in Burlington Wednesday afternoon.
All three men were charged with possession of counterfeit money, conspiracy and larceny under $250 by a single scheme. Akins was charged with two counts of uttering a counterfeit note.

According to an announcement from the Burlington Police Department, officers responded to Bed Bath & Beyond in Burlington for a report of two men trying to purchase goods with counterfeit money at 2:30 p.m. At 3 p.m., police received a separate report of male suspects trying to use counterfeit money at the Paper Store.
Police confronted four suspects in the area of Middlesex Commons, and arrested three of them. A fourth suspect fled on foot, and police are still searching for the suspect.

The suspects are being held at the Burlington Police Department pending arraignment at Woburn District Court. Additional charges may be filed, police say.
