Theft from New Car Dealership, Unlocked Cars Broken Into, Stolen Wallet and More

The latest entries from the Burlington Police Department for Sunday, Dec. 28 and Monday, Dec. 29.

The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Burlington Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Dec. 28

12:00 a.m. - Third party caller reports two vehicles involved in road rage incident in the area of Mall Road. Vehicles are described as a white Jeep and black Nissan pickup truck. Police were unable to locate.

3:42 a.m. - Report of a motor vehicle crash, Rte 3 south at Rte. 128 North with possible injuries. State Police on scene and will handle.

9:47 a.m. - Caller reports two dogs running around with no tags in the area of 9 Long St. at Terry Avenue. Dog reunited with owner.

3:55 p.m.- Person in station reports his wallet was stolen on Dec. 26 while shopping at Barnes Noble, 98 Middlesex Turnpike.

4:04 p.m. - Caller from Mobil Gas Station, 173 Bedford St., reports tall thin male with a grey pointed hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a bandana across his face walking toward the gas station. RP believed the male looked out of place. Subject located and spoken to. Items of interest subsequently located in area.

Monday, Dec. 29

7 a.m. - Report of a dead possum in the roadway in the area of 133 Francis Wyman Road at Morrison Road.

8:54 a.m. - Caller from Mercedes Benz of Burlington, 80 Cambridge St. reports his toolbox lock was cut and items taken sometime on Sunday. Two victims report approximately $2,800 in tools and wire were stolen overnight. Security camera was turned off prior to theft.

10:07 a.m. - One under arrest driving stolen motor vehicle. Police arrested William Tighe, 29, of Tewksbury. He was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop for police, using a motor vehicle without authority, assault with a dangerous weapon, speeding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, failure to signal, assault and resisting arrest.

10:59 a.m. - Caller reports items taken from her m/v sometime last night while parked in her driveway on Wheatland Street. Resident reports her unlocked vehicle was entered and sifted through overnight and $40 was taken. Complainant spoke to others in the neighborhood and their vehicles that were unlocked were entered also.

1:37 p.m.- Caller reports a motor vehicle struck her motor vehicle and left area in the garage of Lahey Clinic, 41 Mall Road. She was hit from behind. Incident to be investigated.

4:52 p.m. - Caller from Black Horse Lane reports someone placed a child’s bike on his son’s car. Resident is going to speak with his son to determine where the bike came from. If they are unable to do so, the bike will be brought to the station.

6:41 p.m. - Officer requesting assistance for suspicious person in the parking lot of the Tuscan Kitchen, 24 Executive Park. Unit dispatched to the area. Same checks out OK.

8:32 p.m. - Person in station reports that on Nov.16, 2014 while working at the Burlington Mall (Shot Cakes) her wallet was stolen. Person was unsure and thought she had misplaced it until she received a letter from the Orange, MA. Police Dept. stating that they found her wallet. The only thing missing from her wallet was her license. The wallet contained credit cards but were inactive and no reported attempts of activity on any of them. NOTE; Her place of work (Shot Cakes) had a freezer Company out of Orange, MA deliver a new freezer on Nov.16, 2014 the day the reporting party was working and the wallet was found not far from that location. At this time only her license was missing.
