Here's a sample of the types of calls Burlington Police responded to last week.

BURLINGTON, MA -- The following is from Burlington Police Department. It is a sample of the types of calls the Burlington Police responded to between October 4 and 10. Wednesday, October 4
Road hazard on Middlesex Turnpike, 10:47 am: Party complaining the female panhandler is entering traffic in front of vehicles. Gone on arrival.
Well-being check, 11;59 am: Per DCF, conduct a well being check on a three year old child. Conducted check on child. All is well. Spoke with childs parent and grandparents who were on location. No issues to report.

Crash at Market Basket, 12:26 pm: Operator erroneously put her vehicle in drive while attempting to back out of a parking space and hit unattended car, driving that vehicle into another unattended car.
Unattended child, 3:57 pm: Mall Security reports a four year old child was left unattended in a vehicle. Door was unlocked and child checks OK at this time. Child was left in the car with an elderly grandmother while mom went inside the mall for 5 minutes. Without mother's knowledge, the grandmother wandered off leaving the child behind.

Theft at Macy's, 7:08 pm: Macy's reports grab-and-run. Arrested Sarah Blunt, 23, of Manchester, Conn. and charged her with larceny over $250.
Threats at Burlington High School, 8:07 pm: Walk in reports her son has been having problems with two males at the high school.
Shoplifting arrest at Wegman's, 10:00 pm: Bryan O'Connor, 26, of Melrose.
Thursday, October 5
Vehicle break-ins on Virginia Road, 6:51 am and 7:16 am: Caller reports her husbands truck was broken in to overnight. Two addresses, two vehicles broken into. Hewlett Packard work laptop, slim stick meter kit, checkbook, and loose change stolen out of one vehicle (Approx. $1,100.00 total). Nothing missing from the second.
Suspicious person, 9:50 am: Manager reports some pulled the fire alarm causing the building employees to evacuate. Fire Dept responded at that time. Employee who pulled the fire alarm located. Party is from out of the country and thought the fire alarm pull station opened the door near the bathroom. No malicious intent.
Vehicle break-in, Virginia Road, 9:57 am: Caller reports his vehicle was broken into sometime overnight while parked in driveway. Stolen were 1 pair of Ray Bans valued at 200.00, 2 bottles of mens cologne valued at 50.00. And a pocket knife. Passenger side mirror was smashed out during the crime. See report.
Vehicle break-in, Short Avenue, 10:26 am: Caller reports her vehicle was broken into sometime overnight. Narrative: Resident reports her vehicle, Ma. Reg. 1CS989, broken into sometime overnight. Stolen was her purse, with 5 credit cards and R.N. license as well as her Ma. license. R.P. will amend the report when she has ascertained pertinent info.
Malicious damage, Brookside Lane, 5:31 pm: Caller reports his rear window in his car was broken sometime last night at his residence. No signs of entry, nothing taken.
Threats at Burlington High School, 7:31 pm: Party wanted to report a high school student who has possibly made threats against other students.
Friday, October 6
Harassment, 1:58 am: Female party approached a detail officer working on Cambridge St at Rt 128 and stated a male was harassing her. Same believed to still be in the area. Party's story unfounded at this time. Transported party to Hyatt Hotel, then again to the bus stop at Lahey as she had no place to sleep tonight.
Assault at Hyatt House, 3:30 am: Front desk reports a fight in progress between two females and a male in the lobby. No assault occurred. Arrested Jada A. Hugh, 27, of Roxbury on outstanding warrant.
Car break-in, 7:40 am: Caller states her neighbor witnessed two men break into her motor vehicle yesterday afternoon. The neighbor interrupted the break and the suspects ran off. Suspects described as white males. There was no damage to the vehicle and nothing was stolen.
Past theft at Staples, 12:44 pm: Manager of Staples reports loss prevention discovered 79 ink cartridge's stolen on 10/1/17, for a total loss of 1,122.00. Staples Loss Prevention reports same suspects hit 4 different locations in the area.
Shoplifting at Sear's, 2:17 pm: Arrested Salina P. Tofani, 36, of Melrose on charges of shoplifting, possession of class E drug, and outstanding warrants.
Unlicensed motor vehicle operation, 5:16 pm: Arrested Alison J. Kee, 31, of Woburn.
Saturday, October 7
OUI arrest following motor vehicle crash without injuries, 12:01 am: Arrested Ryan P. Smith, 24, Burlington.
Suspected motor vehicle theft, 1:04 am: Caller reports her vehicle was stolen while she was in Tavern in the Square. Vehicle was not stolen. Owner let a friend borrow the vehicle who parked it in a different spot.
Ambulance request at Shaw's, 11:37 am: Young boy had walked completely through crosswalk in front of Shaw's, but then turned quickly and attempted to run back into the store. However, a small grey Nissan had already started to drive past. The boy ran into the rear of the vehicle and his left foot was under the rear tire. The boy and child's grandmother do not believe vehicle operator knew the child had run into the rear of the passing vehicle. Child and boy's grandmother refused treatment from Burlington Fire Dept. Incident caused by child.
Shoplifting arrests at Macy's, 5:03 pm: Arrested Julie Ann Foster, 18, of Gardner and Lianna Marie Maynard, 18, of Maynard.
Shoplifting at Victoria's Secret, 8:31 pm: Caller reports shoplifters took $1500 in merchandise. Three black females, 1 heavy set, 1 with glasses and a ball cap and carrying two large Disney Bags.
Sunday, October 8
Well-being check, 3:23 pm: Report of a female that left for Market Basket and has not returned home since this morning. Delta 75 reports 70-year-old female reported missing by her brother, same thought to be going to Market Basket, unknown if she ever made it to the store. Advised the 4-12 shift to continue to search area. Reporting party advised to file a missing person report with Arlington PD.
Shoplifting arrest at Kohl's, 4:51 pm: Arrested Priscilla Roe Perry, 36, of Burlington.
Threats, 5:55 pm: Caller reports receiving threats from someone via her phone. Texts received indicate suspect wants to fight the caller at caller's residence in Billerica. Billerica PD notified.
Monday, October 9
Motor vehicle complaint, 1:24 am: Caller states her 14 y/o son took her car in Waltham without her permission and may now be at a party in Burlington. #129 reports the vehicle is not at that address and no party appears to be going on. Caller was advised to contact Waltham PD if she wishes to report it stolen.
Shoplifting at Sear's, 11:17 am: Arrested Edvania M. Campos, 39, Leominster.
Suspicious person at Barnes & Noble, 2:23 pm: Caller reports being harassed by a male walking into the Barnes & Noble Store. Male described as in his 40's, wears a baseball cap, jacket with Canadian Flag. Caller stated an unknown male struck her with his briefcase and entered the book store. Caller declined medical attention. Involved male party located, identified, and indicated the caller was intentionally blocking his walking path. Both parties wished the incident logged with no charges.
Trespassing at 67 Bedford Street, 7:27 pm: Resident reported media members coming on to the property un-welcomed. No one is there at this time, resident will advise if assistance is needed.
Assist public at 67 Bedford Street, 8:08 pm: Caller reports people on her property. Reporters from the Boston Herald were sent on their way.
Arrest on Middlesex Turnpike, 8:29 pm: Arrested Robert Francis Kalin, 51 of Roslindale on charges of operating an uninsured vehicle, suspended license and outstanding warrants.
Tuesday, October 10
Noise complaint, 2:57 am: Caller states his female neighbor is being loud and banging on doors, possibly intoxicated. Verbal argument between two parties. Male party left to go back to his residence.
Suspicious person at 67 Bedford Street, 9:30 am: Caller reports a male party walking around the neighborhood acting suspiciously. Media parked in the area indicated a person walking a dog on the street wearing possibly the same hat described by the caller. Media indicated no persons were in the yards of area houses. Unfounded.
Animal complaint, 2:28 pm: Caller reports she has a bird stuck in her kitchen.The bird was removed from the residence.
Warrant arrest at 67 Bedford Street, 5:05 pm: Arrested Michael A. Ricci, 18, of Burlington at his residence on outstanding warrant.
Operating with a suspended license, 9:48 pm: Arrested Sean Eric Sainsbury, 42, of Portland, Ore.
