An Eagle Court of Honor was held in their honor on Saturday May 14th at the Marshall Simonds Middle School. The ceremony featured speakers Mr. Tom Murphy of the Burlington School Committee, Mr. Chris Hartling from the Burlington Board of Selectman, and Commandant Arthur Enos of the Marine Corps League, Burlington Detachment. Letters of congratulations from President Obama and Former President Bush, Governor Baker, Mike Rowe of "Dirty Jobs" fame, Chuck Norris and the Mythbusters were read.
The ceremony included the formal recognition of the young men's Eagle status and presentation of gifts, including flags flown over the White House. Each scout then recognized their parents for the critical role that they played in helping them achieve this accomplishment, as well as thanking additional family members, scout leaders and others.
After the ceremony, attendees feasted on baked ziti, chicken/broccoli/pasta, garlic bread, meatballs, cake, punch and Moroccan tea.
