Cambridge Police Arrest Man On Drug Distribution Charges

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A man was arrested on multiple charges related to illegal drugs on Thursday, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

Brett Parnham, 49, of Lowell, has officially been charged with possession to distribute Class A drugs, trafficking and possession to distribute Class B drugs, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm with three prior drug convictions and class E drug possession after police responded to a report of illegal narcotics sales in Porter Square. According to police, Parnham has been previously convicted of illegal firearm charges at least two times in the past. Police identified Parnham and observed him execute what was reportedly a drug transaction.

Detectives were able to stop Parnham and found him to be in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and suboxone, much of which were prepackaged for sale,” the department said in a statement. “In addition, Parnham was armed with a loaded .45 caliber handgun, a crime in Massachusetts as he does not possess a License-to-Carry.”

Parnham is slated to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court. His case is being prosecuted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
