CAMBRIDGE, MA — The Cambridge Office for Tourism has named a new leader to help guide the organization's strategy and operations as it continues its work promoting the city as a destination.
Melinda Monzione was appointed the Cambridge Office for Tourism's new Director of Strategy and Operations, bringing more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit and cultural sectors. Monzione joins the organization from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where she most recently served as Director of Collections Partnership. Her work at the museum included national and international partnership development, strategic and financial planning, operational initiatives, and traveling exhibitions. Earlier in her career, Monzione held roles with The Trustees of Reservations on Martha's Vineyard focused on educational outreach, tourism programming, development, and community engagement. She also has experience in cultural diplomacy and international partnerships, including work examining the role museums and other cultural institutions can play in connecting audiences across countries.
"We're thrilled to welcome Melinda to our team," Cambridge Office for Tourism Executive Director Candice Beaulieu said in a statement. "Her strategic and operational experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our work and find new and exciting ways to strengthen Cambridge's visitor economy."
Monzione received a Master in Global Affairs from The Fletcher School at Tufts University in 2024 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University.
The Cambridge Office for Tourism has promoted the city as a destination for more than three decades, connecting visitors with local businesses, restaurants, hotels, cultural institutions, commercial districts, and neighborhoods. The organization said its marketing efforts generated more than $3 million in gross hotel room bookings in 2025. Its work also includes visitor information services at the Cambridge KiOSK in Harvard Square, which reopened as a public gathering and visitor information space last year.
