Cambridge Hit-And-Run: Police Charge Driver

Police have found the man they say drove away after causing a three-car crash at an intersection Monday.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Police have charged the driver of the vehicle suspected to have causing a three-car crash and fleeing Monday in Cambridge. The driver is a 29-year-old Lynn man, and his blue car was found in Chelsea.

The man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license; leaving the scene of personal injury; and unsafe operation of a motor vehicle.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Land Boulevard and Cambridgeside Place Monday morning. The blue car pictured above rear-ended a car that was stopped at a light, police said. That car then crashed into another.

A male driver got out of the suspect vehicle and spoke with the driver of the vehicle he rear-ended, suggesting they pull over. Two of the cars pulled over, but the blue car allegedly sped past them and onto Land Boulevard toward the Gilmore Bridge.

The diver of the vehicle that was rear-ended by the blue car went to Cambridge Hospital with minor injuries. The other driver that remained on-scene also went to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Police said the blue car has no front license plate and a temporary plate of some kind in the back. The driver's side mirror was held in place by duct tape.

The driver of the blue vehicle is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man in his late 20s with long dark hair. He was wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
