Cambridge Manhole Explosion: Scene Cleared
Mount Auburn Street was closed where a manhole exploded.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — A manhole explosion on Mount Auburn St. closed the road Monday afternoon, authorities said. The area in the vicinity of 12 Mount Auburn was shut down for a stretch. No injuries were reported.
Readings from the smoking manhole were negative. Police started clearing the scene before 3 p.m.
