Cambridge Shooting: 2 Injured

A section of River Street is closed while police investigate.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – Police are investigating a shooting in Cambridge that left two people injured. Police said one person suffered a wound to the hand and another was injured in the knee. Both injuries were non-life-threatening and the victims were treated at area hospitals.

Gunshots were reported on Auburn Street near River Street around 10:45 a.m. A red vehicle was seen leaving the scene, as well as a male on a white bicycle, police said. The vehicle was seized by Cambridge police.

River Street was closed while police investigated but has since reopened. Magazine remains closed at Auburn and Pleasant streets.

Police said the shootings are believed to be targeted incidents between parties known to one another and there was no threat to the public's safety. So far no arrests have been made.
