Caution Urged After Rash Of Cambridge Mulch, Rubbish Fires
Cambridge Fire blames careless disposal of cigarettes for Monday morning mulch fire in Brattle Square area.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — The Cambridge Fire Department is warning residents against the careless disposal of cigarettes after an uptick in outside mulch and rubbish fires in the past week. Engine 1 responded to a mulch fire in the Brattle Square area and extinguished it Monday morning.
"Help to prevent fires in our congested city," Cambridge Fire urged in a social media post. "Don't just toss that butt! Respect your neighbors."
Cambridge Fire also urged residents to immediately call 911 if they spot any signs of an outside fire and an engine company will be dispatched.
