Comcast Expands Carriage of The Portuguese Channel on Xfinity TV in MA

Cambridge, Everett, Lynn, Malden and Somerville Among 21 New Communities to Access Station's Local and International Programming

Comcast announced the expanded availability of The Portuguese Channel on Xfinity TV to 21 additional Massachusetts communities. The Portuguese Channel, which airs news, sports and entertainment programming for the local Portuguese community, is available on channel 93 and can be easily found by saying “The Portuguese Channel” into the Xfinity Voice Remote.

Broadcast from New Bedford, MA, the Portuguese Channel airs a variety of news programs and soap operas such as “A Impostora,” from Portugal, along with locally produced programming such as “Vida Luso-Americana,” a weekly public affairs show and “Conta-me,” which features interviews of residents well known in the Portuguese community in Massachusetts. In addition, the channel will air highlights from upcoming local festivals such as the Whaling City Festival (July 7-10); the Madeiras Feast (Aug. 4-7) and the Great Holy Feast (Aug. 25-27).

New communities with access to The Portuguese Channel on Xfinity TV include: Braintree, Cambridge, Chelsea, Cohasset, Everett, Hanover, Hingham, Hull, Lynn, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Norwell, Salem, Scituate, Somerville, Stoneham, Swampscott, Wakefield, Weymouth and Winthrop.
