Four Cambridge Utility Poles Fall Overnight, Knocking Power
Almost 140 customers were without power overnight.
CAMBRIDGE, MA — Four utility poles fell in Cambridge on Friday night, knocking power overnight to almost 140 people in the area. The poles fell on Washington Street between Windsor and Portland Street. At least two parked cars were damaged.
No one was injured. In total, 138 people were without power from Friday night into Saturday.
The cause of the incident is under investigation. All impacted Cambridge Housing Authority buildings have had their power and heat restored through generators. Eversource will remain on scene until power at all buildings is fully restored, which may not be until tomorrow.
