• Cambridge Expands AED Access to Boost Cardiac Arrest Survival Rates (wror.com) — Cambridge is rolling out nearly 50 publicly accessible AEDs across the city, including at sports fields and recreation areas, to boost survival chances during cardiac arrests. Fire officials say 911 dispatchers can remotely unlock the bilingual devices and guide bystanders through CPR and defibrillation, aiming to get help started within four critical minutes.
   

• Cambridge's worst intersections getting safety makeovers (cambridgeday.com) — Several of Cambridge's most crash‑prone intersections, starting with Mass Ave at Albany Street, are getting targeted safety upgrades aimed at protecting people walking and biking. City transportation staff will review crash data, test quick‑build fixes like signal changes and bumblebee strips, and share progress through an interactive map and project pages so residents can track improvements near their daily routes.
   

• Tufts Prison Program Paused After Alum Charged In Shooting (insidehighered.com) — A Tufts prison reentry program is on pause this year after a former participant was charged in a May shooting in Cambridge, raising questions about how universities balance safety with second-chance education. As Tufts audits all of its prison education offerings, local advocates argue that one person's alleged actions shouldn't derail programs that help formerly incarcerated people rebuild their lives.
