• A tiny park in Cambridge doubles as an urban experiment in forestry (fastcompany.com) — A new one-acre Triangle Park Urban Forest in Kendall Square has transformed a former concrete traffic island into a dense grove of 400 trees, supporting Cambridge's urban forestry plan. The project aims to cool nearby streets, add shade and biodiversity, and test a new, highly replicable approach to planting in leftover city spaces that could spread across Cambridge.
   

• Lamplighter surprises employees with plan to go worker-owned next month - Cambridge (csindie.com) — Lamplighter Brewing, with locations in The Port and Cambridge Crossing, is preparing to shift to 100 percent employee ownership, with state and Cambridge license approvals expected in October. The change follows a recent unionization vote and will create a profit-sharing trust for staff while founders step back into advisory roles, keeping day-to-day operations and neighborhood taprooms running as usual.
