Cambridge fire officials said the person was unharmed.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Just before 5 p.m. a man called police to report he might need to be rescued, as his boat capsized in the water in the canal near the Museum of Science, Cambridge Fire officials said.

State police arrived and reported they couldn't find anyone at first, but fire officials found the man who had called for help himself using his cell phone which was in a plastic container, and helped get him out of the water.

Fire officials helped take the man to the dock near the Sonesta Hotel, where the man told fire and EMTs he was OK and didn't need to be evaluated, Cambridge fire officials told Patch.
