Red Line Train Fatally Strikes Man At Porter Square

The 66-year-old man was walking in the tunnel when struck.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A 66-year-old man was fatally struck by a Red Line train at Porter Square Station Sunday morning. Transit Police said the man, whose identity is not being released, was walking about 10 yards into the northbound tunnel when he was hit.

Foul play is not suspected. Transit Police and the Middlesex DA's Office are investigating.

Red Line service was impacted and a bus shuttle was set up. Service has resumed.
