Residents Displaced After Cambridge House Fire

The fire broke out in the early morning of Martin Luther King Day.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Multiple residents are displaced after a fire that took place at the home on 80 Pleasant St. on Monday.

Crews from the fire department responded to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. to find the two and a half story wood-framed residence ablaze. Firefighters immediately began the extinguishing process while simultaneously searching the area, evacuating residents, and ventilating the structure. According to the department, the fire was fully extinguished at approximately 10 a.m.

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Cambridge fire engines 6, 2, 5, and 1, Ladders 3, 1, and 2; Squads 2 and 3; Rescue 1; and Divisions 1 and 2 worked at the fire. The department expressed gratitude to the city’s police department and emergency medical services for their response in efforts to the situation.
