Santa Hat Helps Cambridge PD Find Man With 'Blood On His Hands'
Police said the man is accused of breaking side mirrors off 24 cars in Cambridge.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Police say they've got a name for Santa's naughty list after they tracked down a man who they said broke the side mirrors off some 24 cars while a Santa hat hung out of his back pocket. The key clue? The Santa hat, say police.
Police said they took a 27-year-old Bedford man into custody Friday night after he reportedly damaged 24 motor vehicles stretching the entire length of Sciarappa Street stretching from McGrath O'Brien Highway to Charles Street.
At 10:44 p.m. someone called to report a man was breaking side view mirrors off of cars as he walked down the street, and described a white man wearing a black jacket and a Santa hat hanging out of his back pocket.

Police on the lookout stopped a man matching that description on Binney Street minutes later.
Police said he was intoxicated and had blood on his hands. Witnesses confirmed to police he was the man they said they'd seen earlier.

Police said the arrested the man and he is slated to be charged with 24 counts of Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle.
No word on why the hands were bloody.
