Shot Fired In Cambridge: Police Ask Public's Help

Cambridge Police say they got a report someone fired a gun in the early hours Saturday and are investigating.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Someone called Cambridge police early Saturday morning to report they thought they heard shots fired near School and Cherry streets. Police said there are no reported injuries or suspects at this time, but are asking for the public's help as they investigate.

At approximately 4:06 a.m., the Cambridge Police responded to the area after gunshots were reported and the ShotSpotter gun detection system was activated.

When police arrived they found shell casings near the intersection, but no description of anyone involved.

"The investigation into this incident is ongoing and information from the community is critical to solving these types of crimes," wrote the Cambridge Police on social media.
