WATCH: MIT Fire Partially Closes Mass. Ave.
Firefighters have knocked down a fire on the roof of Random Hall.
Cambridge, MA—The roof of a building on the MIT campus was on fire and traffic brought to a halt as officials shut down parts of Mass. Ave.
Mass. Ave. was closed between Albany Street and Sidney Street, according to Cambridge Police.
The fire was on the roof of Random Hall at 282 Mass. Ave. Random Hall is home to under 100 students, according to MIT's website.

The fire was reported to be knocked down shortly after 4 p.m.
MIT Police say residents were evacuated.
