From the Canton Police Department:Tuesday night around 8 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a car off the road in the area of 20 Mechanic St. As a result of the crash, police arrested the female operator for operating under the influence of liquor.As officers were investigating the crash, a small crowd began gathering. The passenger of the vehicle then got into an altercation with an individual in the crowd during which officers witnessed an assault. The passenger was subsequently arrested for assault and battery, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
