2. Swing dance lessons: Boston Swing Central is hosting a free swing dance practice session and dance tonight from 9-11 p.m. at 24 Roland St., Charlestown. No partner necessary—just show up and get an introduction to swing dancing.

3. WorldBoston Great Decisions Series: Indonesia: Come to the Boston Public Library from 6-7:30 p.m. to learn about the emergence of Indonesia from authoritarianism into democracy.

4. Annual Newbury Street League Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony: Stop by Hynes Convention Center at 5 p.m. for the Annual Newbury Street Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. 

5. Billiards for Justice: Swing by Jillian’s near Fenway for a night of pool and social justice from 6-8 p.m. Cost of admission is $10 for the 18-and-over crowd. This gathering is sponsored by Socializing for Justice (sojust.org).
