Boston Police Arrest One on Armed Robbery Charges in Charlestown

A Boston man was arrested Saturday night after in connection with an alleged armed robbery in the area of 140 Main St. in Charlestown, Boston Police said Sunday.
Officers responded to the area around 5:53 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, and were subsequently directed to an area liquor store to apprehend a suspect allegedly involved in a previous robbery at a nearby Tedeschi’s, according to BPD. The suspect, police discovered during investigations, had allegedly robbed the Tedeschi’s at gunpoint before attempting to rob the liquor store. A victim told police that the man walked up to the counter, revealed a black handgun and pointed it in her face.
The victim then reportedly grabbed the gun and struggled with the man to remove it from him. Employees of the business assisted the victim and were able to take control of the gun. During the investigation, reviewed the contents of a black plastic bag, which contained the .117 caliber BB gun and an undisclosed amount of money.

Police arrested Raymond Santos, 49, of Boston on charges of armed assault with intent to rob (gun), assault by means of a dangerous weapon (gun) and armed robbery, according to BPD.
