Two teens allegedly left a threatening note on a car in July, prompting a huge police response and shutting down the area for hours.

CHARLESTOWN, MA — Two Everett teenagers are responsible for the threatening note at a Bunker Hill Community College's car in July, prompting transit and school disruptions and a large police response, police said. State Police said a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy will be summonsed to face charges related to the incident, which the suspects told police was a prank.

The charges include threats to commit a crime against a person, making a threat that disrupts a school or public building, and disorderly conduct.

A male victim found a threatening note when he returned to his car in a school parking the afternoon of July 25. Several police and emergency agencies, including the FBI, reported to the scene. Bomb technicians cleared the victim's car.

The college was locked down for more than three hours and the Orange Line stop at Community College was temporarily shut down. Students and staff were not permitted to enter the lot.

The suspects will appear in Charlestown District Court at an undetermined date. The older suspect will be identified when charges are filed. As a juvenile, the younger suspect’s name will not be released.

State Police and Bunker Hill Community College Police identified the suspects through an investigation.

"Regardless of the reason for the threat and the acknowledgement that it was a prank, the serious impacts it caused in terms of fear and disruption to the community, and the drain on numerous law enforcement and emergency agencies, warrant the filing of equally serious criminal charges," police said.
