Charlestown Crime Continues Lower Trend

With breakdown by category.

Crime in Charlestown to trend lower in 2012 when compared to 2011, according to statistics released this week by the Boston Police Department.

The data shows crime information through Feb. 12. During that period, crime in the neighborhood has been down by 26 percent.

That decrease impacted nearly all categories of crime—except for robberies.

Police recorded six robberies in Charlestown this year, compared to just two by the same date last year.

City-wide crime is current on track for similar overall numbers to last year. Boston Police have logged a total of 2,194 criminal incidents across the city so far this year, compared to 2,198 during the same period next year.
