UPDATE: Accident Sends Child to Hospital

Youth sent to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Boston Police Media Department confirmed at 3:25 p.m. that officers responded to an accident in Charlestown where a vehicle struck a child.

The media relations officer confirmed that emergency medical services had responded to the scene and taken the child to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Scanner reports indicated that the accident happened near the intersection of Chestnut Street and Monument Square, and that the child was around 10 years of age. Boston Police could not confirm the age of the child.
