Five Things: Mayor White Poll and Photos
With 57 new recruits to the Boston Police Academy.

Today is Tuesday, Jan. 31. Here are five things you need to know.
1. Gross morning to pleasant midday. Weather.com predicts that we’ll see rain and snow showers today, before conditions clear up and the temperature rises to the mid-to-high 40s shortly after noon.
2. Charlestown residents remember Mayor White for revitalization work. We issued a yesterday asking what people will most remember Mayor White for. So far, a clear majority said “The revitalization of Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, and Downtown Crossing.”

3. Boston Police Academy welcomes 57 new recruits. Over the next six months, the class will learn what it takes to be a Boston Police Officer, which apparently includes getting covered in mud, according to the above photo.
4. Community needs assessment: precincts two and three. The Charlestown Neighborhood Council and the Friends of the Charlestown Navy Yard will host the first in a series of tonight for the Partners/Spaulding Community Needs Assessment.

5. Mayor white in photos. The City of Boston Archives released a set of photos yesterday of Mayor Kevin White. If you need a reminder of who he was, take a look.
