Man Fatally Shot on Monument Street

Boston Police are investigating an incident that occurred in Charlestown at around 10:18 p.m. Tuesday night.

Boston Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Monument Street that occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Police received a call at around 10:18 p.m. reporting that a person had been shot in the area of 92 Monument St. When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a black male lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound, a BPD public information officer said Wednesday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information was available about either the victim or the person or persons who may have shot him.

The BPD spokesperson said it would likely be a day or two before the victim’s name is officially released.
