MBTA Approves Alcohol Ads, Reverses 2012 Ban
MBTA delays might drive some to drinking. Now you only have to look up to figure out who to buy from.

Another "moderate delay on the Red Line" might drive you to drink. Now the Red Line (and others) will be kind enough to tell you who to buy from.
The MBTA will allow alcohol advertisements in stations in December, reversing a 2012 ban that came about out of a concern for young people being exposed to such ads. There will still be restriction on placing the ads at stations that see a lot of student traffic.
The MBTA is testing the advertisements from December to March in hopes of boosting revenues. One look at two recent new contracts ($1 billion and $723 million) the beleaguered transit system has approved and you'll understand why it's looking to make a couple of bucks.
