Multiple Crashes in O'Neill Tunnel Create Lengthy Delays
A trash truck, tractor-trailer and three cars were involved in two crashes in the Boston tunnel Wednesday morning.

A pair of separate accidents involving a trash truck, tractor-trailer and multiple passenger cars spurred length delays for commuters on I-93 south Wednesday morning.
The backup began just after 5 a.m. As a result of one of the crashes, a vehicle started to leak fluid all over the roadway in the area near Exit 20.
The two unrelated crashes happened in unison, involving a garbage truck, tractor-trailer and three cars, the Boston Herald reports.

Crews were forced to respond to the crash scene with sanding trucks in order to clear the mess, MassDOT says.
Traffic was backed up to the north for nearly 10 miles. I took roughly three hours to clear the crash scene.

The Massachusetts State Police say no injuries were reported amid the tunnel chaos.
