NH Man Charged With Heroin Trafficking

The suspect hid a large bag of heroin under his car's hood, according to police.

Police in Charlestown arrested a Manchester, N.H. man Friday and charged him with trafficking class A drugs within 1, 000 feet of a school.

According to BPDNews.com, officers from the Jamaica Plain Drug Control Unit set up surveillance on Walford Way around 8 p.m. Friday as part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of heroin in Boston.

Shortly after that, officers saw car stop on Walford Way and remain parked while the driver talked on his phone. Shortly after, the driver got out of the vehicle and “motioned for someone to come out of the building.”

“A uniformed officer approached the suspect who appeared nervous and anxious as he spoke with the officer,” BPD News reported. “Plain clothes officers observed the suspect to be visibly shaken during his conversation with the officers.”

The officers then identified themselves as part of the drug control team, and the suspect reported that he didn’t have any drugs.

Officers searched the interior of the vehicle and found nothing suspicious, BPDNews reported.

“Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle. While checking the suspect’s motor vehicle, officers observed the hood was partially open. Officers observed a large plastic bag containing heroin in excess of trafficking weight.

As a result, police arrested the man, Wilfredo Guzman, 35, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and charged him with trafficking class A drugs (28-99 grams) Within 1000 feet of a school.
