
Boston police recently broke up a fight at Charlestown High School and took three women into custody as a result of the melee.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, three officers responded to a fight in a fourth-floor stairwell, according to a police report.
Upon their arrival, officers found a large crowd of students blocking the stairwell and cheering on a fight.

The school’s community field coordinator was already on the scene, officers reported, in a struggle to separate two young women.
Officers told the combatants to separate, but the fight continued. Officers stepped in to help school staff. During this process, another woman came up behind one of the officers and punched one of the women in the face.

At that time, officers arrested two of the women and chased a third. In the process, the woman turned and struck an officer in the face.
One of the women received treatment for scratches to her chest from the school nurse. Another received treatment for asthma.
As a result of the incident, officers arrested two juveniles and Amarach Onwuka of 415 River Street in Mattapan.
