
On Friday, Jan. 27, an officer responded to single-vehicle accident at 529 Main Street Charlestown. While the officer spoke to the driver, he observed two syringes—one filled with a brown liquid and one filled with a clear liquid—sitting in the vehicle’s center console in plain view.
According to a police report, the driver, Steven Santos of 310 Prospect Street in Cambridge, admitted to using heroin the night before.
Officers searched the car and the man and found—among other things—several used needles, baggies of a substance believed to be heroin, three GPS units, and a wallet containing identification and credit cards belonging to another person.

As a result of the encounter, officer charged Santos with possession of a class A substance with the intent to distribute it and receiving stolen property.
