Police Log: Dot Man Gets Assault Charges for X-Mas
And a man found face-down on the sidewalk doesn't know how he got there.

On Sunday, Dec. 25, officers arrested a Dorchester man at the Bunker Hill Housing Development after he allegedly assaulted an officer. According to a report, the man appeared to be intoxicated when he was found lying on the stairs, yelling, screaming and spitting. The officers told the man it was time to leave, at which point he started spitting at one of the officers. The officers grabbed the man, the report said, at which point he struck an officer in the shoulder. The officer responded by using his open palm to strike the man in the shoulder “as trained by the Boston Police Academy,” the report said.
The officers then took the man to the district A-1 police station for booking. The man refused to cooperate, the report said, and “made threats to officers that he was in the mafia and he would get them.” He was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, trespassing and resisting arrest.
On Friday, Dec. 23, officers responded to a report of a man who ha been assaulted on Main Street. A witness told police he called after finding a man bloodied, face-down and shirtless opposite 330 Main Street. The officers reported that the victim’s eye was swollen shut, and he could not tell officers who had hurt him or how had had gotten to Charlestown. An emergency medical crew treated the man for his facial wounds and took him to the hospital.
