Police Recover Drugs Following Carney Court Shooting

Department has yet to announce suspects or arrests.

Last week’s may have been drug-related, according to police records.

Following the shooting, Boston Police used a search warrant to enter an apartment at 2 Carney Court. Inside, according to a police report, officers secured two digital scales, a box of baggies and a plastic bag of marijuana. Detectives also found two red or brown stains that they believed to be blood and swabbed for evidence.

The report called the department’s entry into the apartment “peaceful” and said that detectives also took photos of the area.

Earlier that morning, according to a separate report, officers responded to the scene and immediately called for medical assistance after finding a black man suffering two gunshot wounds.

Police found two spent shell casings inside the common hallway as well as blood on the ground, the report said.

Boston Police have yet to announce any suspects and have not publicly drawn any connection between Thursday’s shooting and last year’s two .
