Police Tag Three For Drug Charges in Charlestown

Boston Police Officers have been racking up in Charlestown recently, and added three more to their list last week.

On Monday, Feb. 6, members of the department’s drug control unit were patrolling an area of Charlestown where they report they have made “hundreds of drugs arrests.”

During the patrol, according to a report, officers spotted a man displaying behavior consistent with awaiting a drug deal; he waited on the street for about 25 minutes and paced while constantly operating his phone.

At the end of this period, the report said, the man got in a car with another man. The car drove to the end of the street, then let the first man out.

Officers stopped the first man nearby, while another officer stopped the driver in Sullivan Square.

Officers found the driver in possession of two pills, one of which the suspect had concealed in his mouth.

As a result, the officers issued a citation to the driver for possession of a class B substance. They also arrested the first man and charged him with distribution of a class B substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, officers trailed two white men onto Warren Street and then saw them sit on the front steps of a Pleasant Street address. As officers approached the men to speak to them, a report said, a woman stepped out of a nearby home with a clear plastic bag containing a number of smaller plastic bags.

Officers asked her to come down and she ran back inside. Officers chased and caught her, but not before she threw approximately ten individual plastic bags that spread over the floor.

Officers also found the woman in possession of a can of mace, which she said she did not have a license for.
