State Police Shut Down Carpool Lane on I-93 for Pothole Repair

At 7:44 p.m. Monday night, State Police closed the carpool lane on 93 south near Somerville and Charlestown due to numerous cars reporting flat tires caused by potholes.

UPDATED 9:22 P.M. MONDAY: Repairs to the potholes in the carpool lane on I-93 south near Somerville and Charlestown will be made early Tuesday morning. The lane will remain closed through the night.

7:44 P.M. MONDAY: Massachusetts State Police report that they "are on scene assisting motorists and blocking entrance to the carpool lane on Route 93 southbound in the Charlestown and Somerville area after multiple cars and one bus reported flat tires due to large potholes. The lane is impassable at this time and being blocked. Cruisers are awaiting MassDOT repair of potholes before reopening the lane."
