Two Boston Men Indicted in Boating Mishap That Severed Teen's Arm
The men were involved in accident in the area of Spectacle Island on May 30.

Two Boston men were indicted Wednesday on charges stemming from a May boating mishap in which a young woman’s arm was sliced off by a spinning propeller, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley.
A Grand Jury returned indictments charging Benjamin Urbelis, of Charlestown, with negligence operation of a boat, operating a boat under the influence of alcohol and supplying alcohol to underage individuals.
Alexander Williams, of the West End, was indicted on charges of negligent operation of a boat, supplying alcohol to minors and tampering with evidence.

Urbelis and Williams were among a group of 13 people onboard Urbelis’ 30-foot vessel in the area of Spectacle Island on the evening of May 30th. A 19-year-old woman lost her arm after the boat was suddenly turned on while she was swimming in the water nearby.
The woman is expected to survive, officials say.

Their arraignments will take place on July 31 in Suffolk Superior Court.
