Youth Group Organizes Drive to Collect Hats and Gloves
Cash donations will also be accepted.

The Turn It Around Youth Group, who raise awareness of the dangers of prescription drug misuse in Charlestown, are planning a local drive on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Main Street to collect hats and gloves for homeless residents displaced when the city of Boston condemned the bridge to Long Island. Cash donations also will be accepted.
The members of the Turn It Around Youth Group are: Shannon Rose, Edwin Slater, Halima Hussein, Karynn Cunningham, Hannah Crilley, Laneigh Lundin-Monaco, Kenny Trapp, Michaela Lewey, Yesenia Vega, Marvina White, Matt Robinson, Mark Robinson, Krista Matthews and Martavia Richardson.

Turn It Around was funded through Charlestown Substance Abuse Coalition (CSAC) grants from the Drug-Free Communities Support Program through the Office of National Drug Control Policy and from American Medical Association. CSAC is a community coalition supported by the MGH Center for Community Health Improvement.
