Chelmsford Intruder Caught, Faces Judge

Suspect was caught and arrested after breaking into a home Saturday night.

A man who broke into a Chelmsford home Saturday night was arrested over the weekend and went before a judge Tuesday morning.

Jared Dorrington, 21, was arrested by Chelmsford Police Saturday night facing several charges including burglary with assault in a dwelling, assault and battery, larceny and malicious destruction.

He’s being held on $3,000 cash bail and pleaded not guilty to all charges, the Lowell Sun is reporting.

According to the Lowell Sun, Dorrington left behind items as he fled including a cellphone, police with a K-9 were able to follow Dorrington’s trail to a neighboring home.

Dorrington is expected back in court in November for a probable cause hearing.
