Chelmsford Police Hunting For Cruiser Theft Suspect

Chelmsford police said they are hunting for suspects who stolen a detective's cruiser, personal car and shotgun from his home.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford police on Friday continued their search for suspects who stole a detective's cruiser, personal car and shotgun earlier this week. The cruiser and personal car were found Thursday and on Friday police Chief James Spinney said the shotgun was found in Lowell. The suspects remain at large.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chelmsford police at 978-256-2521. Police said they are "actively and aggressively" investigating to find the suspects but have not said if they have identified anyone.

The vehicles are a 2011 Ford Taurus unmarked police cruiser and a Saturn wagon. The Taurus was found on Thursday on Bowden Street in Lowell. The Saturn was found in Chelmsford a short distance away from the detective's residence. The shotgun was found in Lowell Friday.
