Chelmsford Police: Nearly 100 Vehicle Theft Calls

Chelmsford police this week issued an alert a rash of vehicle break-ins.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford police this week issued an alert after reporting they have received nearly 100 vehicle break-in calls since the start of the year. Ninety percent of the thefts involved unlocked vehicles, police said.

"Please lock your car doors at night," Chelmsford police said in a statement. "This is a preventable crime."

Earlier this month, Chelmsford police officers chased down three vehicle break-in suspects on Manning Road near Delmore Drive.
