Hurricane Harvey: Relief Drive In Chelmsford

Chelmsford police and firefighters are collecting supplies for first responders dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford police and firefighters are holding a Hurricane Harvey relief drive through next week. Police and fire stations have drop-off boxes for donations that will be shipped to Texas first responders and their families. Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area, killing nearly 60 people and displacing thousands.

"A lot of these First Responders haven't even been able to go home since the hurricane," Chelmsford police and firefighters said in a statement. "Please consider donating items for this cause."

The drive will be held through September 12. Donations needed include:

  • Bleach, Lysol, sponges
  • Work and rubber gloves
  • Buckets
  • Tyvek suits
  • Garbage bags
  • T-shirts
  • Baby wipes
  • Water
  • Diapers
  • Blankets
  • Baby formula
  • Non-perishable items

Only new items will be accepted.
