• Planning Board Public Hearing on IZ Policy Changes Scheduled for May 19 (chelsearecord.com) — Chelsea officials are weighing major changes to the city’s inclusionary zoning rules that could reshape how much affordable housing new developments must include and how much tax revenue they generate. A Planning Board public hearing on May 19 will review proposals to loosen requirements for some larger projects, especially in West Chelsea, while promising more frequent policy reviews to better match local market conditions and housing needs.
   

• CPC Recommends Funding for Six City Projects (chelsearecord.com) — Chelsea’s Community Preservation Committee is backing six local projects, including a new John Ruiz statue, a second phase of the Chelsea Black Heritage Trail, and major library archive upgrades. The recommendations now go to the City Council, which can approve, reduce, or reject the proposed funding that also supports affordable housing coordination and Beacon Street façade restoration.
   

• Two Female Juveniles Arrested After Robbing and Assaulting Victim in East Boston (boston.gov) — Two teenage girls from Mattapan and Dorchester are facing charges in Chelsea Juvenile Court after an alleged unarmed robbery and assault on a woman in East Boston. Police say the group of juveniles confronted the victim at a Mobil station, then a struggle over her wallet led to the victim being kicked and knocked down before officers tracked the suspects to a nearby apartment building.
