Argyle Pink Diamonds are extremely rare miracles of nature and have fetched more than $1,500,000/ct at public auctions. Each diamond over 0.15 carats is inscribed and sold with a Gem Identification Document. These collectable pink diamonds originate in the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia, and offer a spectrum and intensity of color that is unrivaled by any other pink diamond. According to the Natural Color Diamond Association, natural pink color diamonds are extremely rare, approximately 0.02% of the Gemological Institute of America’s intake of diamonds.

Argyle Pink Diamonds manager Josephine Johnson said, I am delighted to extend a very warm welcome to our new Select Atelier, Barmakian Jewelers. Their commitment to beautiful design and quality craftsmanship is a perfect fit with the rarity, beauty and luxury of Argyle pink diamonds.”

Barmakian president Ara Barmakian attended the exclusive 2015 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender in New York. The New York stop for the Tender, comprising 65 of the world’s rarest pink and red diamonds, was part of a global tour. Over the past 30 years, Argyle Pink Diamonds’ most exceptional stones have been sold by invitation-only tender. The spectacular 2015 collection weighed a total of 44.14 carats and attracted global demand from collectors, connoisseurs, and luxury jewelers.

Barmakian to Feature Three Historic Pink Diamonds

As part of the exhibition, Barmakian will showcase the following jewels:

2015 Tender Lot # 58 - A 1.45ct oval Fancy Intense Pink diamond, the 2nd largest stone in this year’s invitation-only Argyle Pink Diamond Tender, considered one of the top stones from the mine (Retail Price $750,000)

Argyle AZALEA - An incredibly saturated Vivid Pink pear-shaped Argyle pink diamond originating from the 2008 Signature Tender (Retail Price: $1,900,000)

Red Flower Ring - A 0.48ct Purplish Red diamond flower ring (9)=2.70cts Pear Shape White Diamonds (Retail Price: $550,000)

More than 60 Signature pieces of jewelry containing Argyle pink diamonds ranging in price from $5,000 to $200,000 will be available at the Barmakian event and throughout the year.

“Our family has been in the jewelry business for more than 100 years and we have never seen pink diamonds like Argyle. We’re excited to show them to our Boston clientele,” said Barmakian Jewelers president Ara Barmakian.

The U.S. and Boston as a Collectors Market

The United States is an important collector market for fancy gems and the world’s largest retail diamond jewelry market, estimated to be $72 billion, according to DeBeers 2014 Market Insight Report. Argyle Pink Diamonds have had strong consumer interest in Europe and Asia, and only now make their debut among retailers in the United States. Barmakian believes that Argyle’s pink diamonds appeal to many consumers because they are unique, romantic, collectable, and they can be worn every day.
