Concord Solar Fair

"With a 30 percent Federal tax credit, plus Massachusetts solar incentives and rebates, solar power is not just good for the environment, it can do wonders for your bank balance," a statement from the committee reads. "Join us on Saturday, Feb. 4 to find out more. Representatives from solar companies and local banks will be on hand to answer questions on installation and financing. Childcare and refreshments will be provided on site."
Concordians Join Sudbury Savoyards in "Ruddigore"
Concord residents Sara Ballard, Connell Benn, Laura Schall Gouillart, and Bill Fisher are taking the stage with the Sudbury Savoyards in Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera "Ruddigore."
Curtain rises at 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 15, and March 2 and 3 at on Lincoln Road in Sudbury. Afternoon performances will be held on Feb. 26 and March 3 at 2 p.m. Admission is $22 for adults, $17 for students and seniors, and $12 for children under 12. Tildsley Brothers Mark 100th Win as Wrestling Coaches at Minuteman

The three Tildsley brothers earned their 100th win as coaches of the wrestling team at Minuteman High School in Lexington on Wednesday, Jan. 25, with a defeat of Greater Lowell.
The Tildsleys started at Minuteman as wrestling coaches in 1999. Head Coach Brian Tildsley is Dean of Students at Minuteman. Assisting him are his brothers, Jay and Kevin Tildsley.
“As Athletic Director [at Minuteman High School],” John Donato said, “I am very proud of the Tildsley brothers’ accomplishment. Not many coaches reach 100 victories in a career. They run a strong program with pride and they give 100 percent to their athletes. The wrestlers respect and respond to Brian, Jay and Kevin. The team is like a family during the season. This [milestone] is great for the Minuteman community as well. Our athletic program is growing by the year with the number of athletes that participate. Congrats again to Brian, Jay and Kevin. May they have many more wins in their future!”
Concord Resident Honored by Boston Chamber of Commerce

Concord resident , president of National Grid in Massachusetts, was honored Thursday with a prestigious 2012 Pinnacle Award from the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon ceremony attended by 1,200 people who came to see Reed and seven other women accept their awards.
The Pinnacle Awards were started 17 years ago by the Chamber’s Women’s Network. The annual awards honor business and professional women for outstanding achievement in the workplace, demonstrated leadership that has made a difference, and a commitment to enhance the quality of life in the region.
“Marcy Reed is an exemplary leader in this region’s business and civic communities, and the work she has done to advance female leadership within the ranks of National Grid and across the broader utility industry is truly commendable,” said Paul Guzzi, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. “We congratulate Marcy on her well-deserved recognition as a 2012 Pinnacle Award recipient.”
Reed has worked for National Grid for over 20 years. During that time she has held positions in finance, merger integration, and corporate affairs, and spent three years in London as the National Grid Head of Investor Relations. In addition to her work at National Grid, Reed sits on the Boards of the New England Council, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Jobs for Mass, the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, the United Way of Central Massachusetts, and more. Marcy is also a member of the Rockefeller Fellows Program within the Partnership for NYC, and the global executive sponsor for National Grid’s Women in Networks employee affinity group.
In her acceptance remarks, Reed credited her parents for teaching her the importance of building relationships as a key to success and a means to help others succeed. Reed also commented yesterday that her award was a tribute to her employees as well as the women who have mentored her and that she has mentored.
