Endangered turtles get a boost with the help of Massachusetts school kids (wgbh.org) — In Concord, Zoo New England scientists and local schoolchildren are helping endangered Blanding's turtles rebound at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, boosting the adult population from about 55 to roughly 300. Alcott School students are again raising hatchlings, including offspring of a turtle once fostered in their own classroom.
