Fenn Hockey Advances to 6-1

A look at this past week in Fenn School athletics.

The following announcement comes from Brenda Dupont on behalf of athletics.

Fenn's Varsity Hockey team got back on track last week, skating to two wins over tough opponents. Fenn hosted Shore in an evenly-matched contest on Wednesday. In the third period, Scott Correia (Wayland) backhanded a shot on the doorstep by the Shore netminder to break a scoreless deadlock. Later in the third, a scrum in front of the Shore net resulted in Will Robertson (Acton) getting a goal. Leo Saraceno (Acton) picked up the shutout in the 2-0 Fenn victory.

Up against Fay on Friday in a fast and spirited game, Gavin Kennedy (Concord) got Fenn on the board in the first period, converting a feed from Cory Tibbets (Acton). Kennedy later connected again for a 2-0 Fenn lead. Fay cut that lead in half, but Fenn responded with a Robertson power-play tally. Robertson also tacked on another goal for a 4-1 Fenn lead. In the closing seconds, Fay pulled the goalie and added a goal, but Fenn pocketed the 4-2 victory. The Blue-and-Gold moved to 6-1 on the season.

Visiting Fessenden on Friday, Fenn started slowly and trailed, 33-18, at the half, but continued to work hard and eventually cut Fessenden's lead to just four points in the final minutes. Fessenden pulled away at the end for the 63-50 final. Austin Dorsey (Sudbury) was high man for Fenn with 16 points.
