Organ Recital and Choral Evensong at Trinity Episcopal Church, Nov 1
Celebrate All Saints Day with an organ recital and Choral Evensong featuring beautiful English choral music.

Robert Barney, organist and music director at Trinity Episcopal Church, presents a solo Prelude Recital on Trinity’s main sanctuary organ, featuring two of the most well known organ pieces, in addition to something old, something new and something blue. Oh, wait, this isn’t a wedding, but it fits! Bach’s infamous Toccata and fugue in d minor and two new pieces by contemporary Cambridge-based composer Carson Cooman honoring Daniel Pinkham and Dirk Flentrop along with Cesar Frank’s Fantasy in C Major (which ironically spends most of its time in c minor — hence blue) are included in the prelude recital.
After the recital, Trinity’s Parish Choir will sing the traditional Anglican service of Choral Evensong with musical settings by English composers Thomas Walmisley, Richard Ayleward, C. V. Stanford and others, including Edgar Bainton’s splendid anthem “And I saw a new Heaven”. Mark your calendars, spread the word and please invite your friends!
Trinity Choir member Harriet Bridges officiates at this service. The recital and choral evensong are FREE, open to the public at no charge.
Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 81 Elm Street in Concord, and is fully handicap-accessible. There is ample on-street parking. For further information, please call Trinity’s Parish Office, 978-369-3715 or visit Trinity’s web page.
